I have moved ahead of time

In 2060, on March 30th, I give you information with hindsight

History

Four decades ago, in 2020,

The world fought the greatest war ever known since my parents were kids

One that changed economies, philosophies and families

This enemy fought close to death

Humanity was endangered with fear

Fear of extinction like dinosaurs.

The busy life of mankind,

It was disrupted.

This war came with many uncertainties

Only what is certain remained.

Humanity was strong

Oh! human race fought hard

Lockdowns, shutdowns, yet people reached in calls and texts.

Churches closed, schools suspended, partying ended,

Yet we prayed, we learnt, we celebrated dear.

Social media didn’t make social distancing correct.

We were 1 metre apart only physically.

Alas! We knew technology cannot replace humanity.

War Zone

During this period,

Nations had tests on economic power

Health care systems were tested beyond limits.

Who passed? Who failed?

America? Italy? China? Iran? Russia? Rwanda? Ghana? Nigeria? Algeria?

Some had grade A, others B, C and sadly some nations couldn’t reach these.

Infrastructural development, Disease and Infection control departments

Local, regional and federal governments

Private and public constituents

Every hand was on deck.

Money was needed, widely!

Hand sanitizers, soaps, building isolation centres,

Sheltering the homeless, feeding the gig workers

Money was useful but sometimes it was helpless

It couldn’t buy back lost lives,

It couldn’t find a vaccine before the first 1,000 global deaths

The economy was second fiddle to the people.

Money was needed but wisdom was more critical.

The Enemy

Source: WHO. Blood sample with respiratory coronavirus positive.

Politicians, celebrities, masses, no one was exempted

The “invisible” enemy was called Corona Virus (COVID-19)

It was subtle as a serpent yet fast as a cheetah

It invaded respiratory spaces and destroyed lives.

Keep a good hygiene,

Wash hands under running water, but in some nations water supply was unreliable

Clean surfaces with disinfectants, resources were running out

This enemy forced workers out of offices

Manufacturing became difficult. Operations were affected

It was like a skilled hunter,

It looked for the vulnerable

It ran wide shooting everywhere in our space like Cupid’s arrow.

I better call a spade, a spade.

This virus wasn’t the first to attack the human kingdom

Tuberculosis and Malaria claimed lives too, but this enemy became famous overnight

Death toll rose, nations went on lockdown, people freaked out of quarantine

Isolations raised psychological troubles –depressions, trauma

Humans found out what it means not to live without one another.

The Solution

The vaccine came through many ways,

Our spirit, our souls and our bodies needed this healing.

When we lost control, Presidents said it.

We called for another realm of power.

Until this period, humans could pretend to live without God.

Until this period, African leaders travelled abroad for medical treatments and left their citizens impoverished with weak systems

Until this period, parents were comfortable working all day and leaving family time to 0.05% of their daily time budget

Until this period, people took each other for granted. Hugs, handshakes, we never appreciated that life was beautiful because of the strangers we met every day, family and friends to share every moment with.

Until this period, infrastructural development and data management were not priorities especially in Africa.

Until this period, humans never appreciated that LIFE & LOVE is what matters

Not money, not work

But strangers, friends, family & God.

So humanity prayed

Humanity searched

Science & God are not antagonistic

Science is the manifestation of a part of the spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding from God (You can read Daniel 1:17)

Suddenly, the second coming of Christ became real.

This war sent a message of CHANGE to mankind.

Humanity found…..

The vaccine came at a point where it healed our bodies, souls and spirit.

Aftermath

We learnt our lessons.

To never take freedom for granted

That death can happen to anybody irrespective of race or class

That true Christianity means being able to worship God at home, Monday to Saturday

Not waiting for your Pastor on Sundays.

That man cannot rule over God.

He is supreme. He is Lord and we must respect this.

Dead economies resurrected with time

Dying hearts revived with hugs and handshakes

Malnourished evangelist equipped with courage

Humanity near-death experience brought us closer to eternal life –real life.

Nations supported each other

In money, resources and even lending medical practitioners to build systems.

Companies and NGOs donated resources & discounted sale prices of necessary consumables.

Christians learnt to have personal relationships with God

The church is the people not the building

In the absence of the gathering of people in the building, the church gathered on social media.

National leaders understood humility and cooperation.

Stopping this enemy from evacuating us from our lands meant trust and teamwork from national leaders.

It took a common invisible enemy to create unity.

African leaders came awake to build good healthcare systems

During the war, they saw they couldn’t travel abroad anymore for emergencies

They relied on the impoverished systems they neglected until the war.

Companies embraced remote working to promote work life balance

Husbands saw stay-home as privilege than punishment

Wives enjoyed family time

Children grew knowing quality time with people matters.

NOW

This Aftermath is what a girl wants,

It is.

“A

CHANGED

World”

At 23, on 30th, in March, in 2020.

We can win against COVID-19
